Ørsted: Several options for Hornsea 3

Even if Ørsted fails to secure a higher transfer price for parts of its record-breaking - but low-profit - offshore wind farm in the next tender, the energy company says there are alternatives.

On Wednesday, Ørsted delivered an announcement that was spectacular in more ways than one. The investment decision on the UK’s Hornsea 3 offshore wind project, with its 2.9 GW and reportedly more than DKK 70 billion, is not only the energy company’s largest single investment ever in an offshore wind project - the major investment is also being made before the project’s plan A is in place.
