GE breaks Vestas' onshore order record

The project that gave Vestas its largest onshore wind order ever in December has also placed an order with GE - for almost three times as many turbines. It will be the largest wind farm outside China.

Vestas didn’t get to hold on to its US record for long. Two weeks after the Danish turbine manufacturer announced its largest ever onshore wind order of 1,089 MW for Pattern Energy’s Sunzia project, GE Vernova has broken it. For the same project, the American turbine manufacturer has received an order for a staggering 2.4 GW.
