Analysis: Investments must be doubled to reach COP28 2030 target

An analysis shows that over the next six years, USD 8000bn will need to be invested in new capacity and USD 4000bn in the expansion of electrical grids.

If the world is to reach its goal of tripling renewable energy capacity by 2030, it needs to invest USD 2trn a year. But right now, only half of that money is being put into new projects, jeopardizing the goal, reports Recharge News with reference to think tank Climate Analytics.
