Ørsted plans transition to climate friendly steel

”Ørsted has a closer tie to the supply chain than other developers,” states the CEO in a letter of intent outlining a deal with a German steelmaker.

Ørsted is building on its two-year-old supply agreement with Dillinger in the form of a letter of intent that states the Danish energy company’s preference for so-called low-emission steel. The less CO2-intensive steel for foundations is expected to be available for purchase from 2027-28.
