GWEC: Wind goals can only be reached through global collaboration

Asia now accounts for half of the world’s wind capacity and while that trend is only growing, so are bottlenecks on almost everything. There’s only one path forward, and we’re not on it, says GWEC.
I 2023 krydsede kapaciteten på den årlige opførelse 100 GW, den samlede udbygning 1 TW og en vindmølle 20 MW. Alle tre rekorder var i altovervejende Kinas fortjeneste. | Photo: Suzlon

Last year, the world’s wind industry experienced several notable milestones. The installation of 117 GW of new wind was both the highest ever and the first time more than 100 GW was installed. This pushed the world’s total capacity to cross the one terawatt mark, with 1,021 GW now built, according to the annual listing from the wind industry’s global trade association, GWEC.
