Equinor predicts real return on offshore wind farm thanks to new contract

Despite signing a new contract, the oil company does not expect to close the financing on the offshore wind farm in New York until the end of the year. Now they are looking for new partners.

On Tuesday, Equinor finally secured a new contract for its Empire Wind 1 project in New York. With a settlement price of USD 155/MWh (106.2 øre/kWh), the Norwegian oil company has secured an improvement of 31.4% compared to the original contract signed almost five years ago.
