Cable manufacturer NKT has won an order from the Polish utility company Tauron to supply 1300 km of cables for the expansion of the Polish power grid, it announces in a press release.

”We are proud to support Poland in expanding the grid to be ready for an increased amount of renewable energy. This is a general trend we see across Europe, which is why we are also increasing our capacity in medium and high voltage cables to meet our customers’ growing demand,” says Carlos Fernandez, President of the Applications business area, which includes low and medium voltage cables in NKT, in the release.

The 1300 km of 20 kV cables will be supplied in the period 2024-2025.

The value of the order is not disclosed in the announcement.
