German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has had a strong order intake in the domestic market in the recent period.

In Germany, the company has received various orders totaling 172 megawatts (MW), according to an announcement on Thursday morning.

The largest single order is for a project in the state of Lower Saxony, with Hanover as its main city. Turbines with a total capacity of just under 75MW have been ordered for projects in Osnabrück and Vechta.

This also includes a 20-year service agreement in the highest price range, according to Nordex.

Operation of the projects in Lower Saxony is expected to begin in the fall of 2025.

In addition, Nordex has received an order for 11 6.8MW turbines to replace 17 older 1.5MW turbines in a repowering project.

The old turbines also originate from Nordex - sold 22 years ago under the former Südwind brand, the company says.
