Vestas to supply New Zealand wind farm

The Danish wind turbine manufacturer will deliver 36 turbines to a project in New Zealand.

Vestas has on Tuesday secured an order of 155 megawatts for an onshore wind project in New Zealand, a press release states.

The order includes 36 V136-4.2 wind turbines with an operational setting of 4.3 megawatts, and the contract also includes a 30 year service agreement, AOM5000.

The turbines will be delivered to Mercury Energy’s Kaiwera Downs wind project’s second phase. Vestas also supplied the turbines for the first phase.

Delivery of the 36 wind turbines will take place in the fourth quarter of 2025 with commissioning of the project expected in the first quarter of 2026.
