The electrical connection between the Danish mainland and the large Dong Energy offshore wind farm near the island of Anholt has been posing problems for some time.
On several occasions, the cable has had issues which became very expensive for cable supplier NKT, who was subsequently forced to pay huge sums in compensation to Dong who was unable to send electricity into the grid.
