Dong is ready to increase risk in Asia

Wind turbine farms in Dong's future venture market of Southeast Asia have a more risky profile than projects back home, says head of offshore wind at Dong Energy.

Last week, Dong Energy was beaten by Vattenfall for the rights to offshore wind farm Kriegers Flak. On the other hand, the Danish energy company is in a strong position to win projects on the other side of the globe. As an offshore wind pioneer, the company has established a solid base in Taiwan, which has ambitions to build 4 GW offshore wind by 2030. However constructing wind turbines off of the island state is not without its risks.
