From next year, the COO of Vindmølleindustrien (Danish Wind Industry Association), Jakob Lau Holst, will take the reins as the new CEO of the Global Wind Organization (GWO). This organization has a global aim – albeit slightly less far-reaching than the name may imply – and counts members such as Vestas, Siemens, GE and developers including Dong and Eon. The target is to create and develop common standards for safety training in the industry.

GWO has worked towards this aim for seven years, although the efforts have intensified in the last couple of years – with assistance from Lau Holst himself who besides his job at the industry association has supported work at GWO since the organization moved into the offices of the Danish Wind Industry Association in 2014.
