A delegation from Vestas is presently in Vietnam to spread the word about wind. And that is not the only country in the region where the Danish wind turbine producer currently has a presence, after Wednesday's announcement that Vestas had closed its second order in Australia over the last few weeks. It concerns 180 MW and will be delivered to the USD 360 million (EUR 338 million) large project Mr Emerald.
The customer, meanwhile, comes from a third place in the Asia-Pacific region. Thai-owned energy supplier Ratch Australia Corporation (RAC) has placed the order for approximately 50 – the exact figure has not been divulged – V112 and V117 wind turbines with a starting capacity of 3.45MW. A 15-year service contract has also been bought from the second-highest contender, AOM4000.
