MHI Vestas introduces 9 MW turbine after new record

For a long time, the simple explanation was that the V164 turbine from MHI Vestas was an 8 MW turbine. The detailed explanation is that the Japanese/Danish joint venture has often received orders for upgraded V164 turbines with increased capacity, such as for the extension farm in Walney, where turbines were boosted to 8.25 MW, or the Norther project, where 8.4 MW is the goal.
