Denmark recently announced the establishment of new testing areas for wind turbines, but Adwen has other plans for the company's new large, turbine AD 8-180. This is an offshore wind turbine with 8 MW capacity, one of the largest in the world, and the company will test it in Germany.
The tests for Adwen's priority turbine model will start at the end of this year and take place at a brand-new testing facility at the Faunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology near Bremerhaven in Germany. The choice of facility was announced in December and now the German parliament has formally approved a grant to the coming test center.
