
Norwegian developer Grenselandet will construct two 900 MW wind farms in Finnmark, a country in northern Norway on the border with Finland. The two Norwegian companies Vindkraft Nord and Ny Energi have entered a contract with Finnish company St1, owned by Finnish petrol billionaire Mika Anttonen, for the development of the two onshore wind projects Davii and Borealis, which are 700 and 200 MW respectively.
While the size of the projects is noteworthy, there is another interesting element to the two farms – when they launch operations towards the end of the current decade, it will be without the support of state subsidies.
