Verdict paves way for 2.3 GW offshore wind in Scotland

Major Siemens wind farm looks set to return from the afterlife in the wake of an appeal case which also means that several new offshore wind farms are now closer to realization.

Offshore wind farm Neart na Gaoithe will go ahead after all. The appeals court at the Scottish Court of Sessions has ruled against the objection from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), which prompted the court to ban the installation of the otherwise approved project last year.
