It came as a big surprise to the UK solar sector when the conservative government decided to drop national subsidies for solar panels in 2015. 12,000 jobs in the sector disappeared along with the subsidies, but now, one of the top players in the British solar power industry has returned to its former strength, reports The Guardian.
Solarcentury took a huge blow, just like many other British solar developers, when subsidies were slashed. However, in recent years, the company has managed to build up a project portfolio in especially South America and Southern Europe totaling almost GBP 3 billion (EUR 3.45 billion).
