Siemens Gamesa nabs Vestas order

The conditional flagship order awarded to Vestas by a South-East Asian capital fund has been snapped up by Siemens Gamesa, confirms the wind turbine manufacturer.

Indonesian offshore wind farm Tolo 1 will be equipped with Siemens turbines. Siemens Gamesa has confirmed that the manufacturer received a turnkey order from capital fund Equis Energy for 20 SWT 3.6 - 130 to the project in the South-European country. The installation will begin at the end of the year and is expected finished in early 2018, with a further five years of service included in the contract.

"We are proud to be awarded this order since Equis Energy is an important and very dynamic player in the Indonesian energy market," said Alvaro Bilbao Moran, head of the Asia Pacific region in Siemens Gamesa's Onshore business unit, in a press release.
