Senvion strikes deal with union: 700 staff face layoffs

A deal has been made with Senvion's employees regarding the mass layoffs which are in store for the company. "Unfortunately, the concepts we developed as an alternative failed in avoiding closures of facilities," says Senvion works council president.

German wind turbine manufacturer Senvion has settled an agreement with a number of unions regarding upcoming layoffs that the company plans to implement, report several media.

The manufacturer explained in March that, as part of its restructuring program, negotiations would take place with unions concerning a potential 780 layoffs at factories in Husum, Trampe, and Bremerhaven. This deal has now been settled.
