New wind turbines in US at record-low price level

New technology and increased efficiency helped keep the price level for new wind turbine projects in the US far below the prices from before, determines a new report from the US Department of Energy.

It is highly probable that wind will remain a sought-after source of energy in the US over coming years – regardless of any potential changes in the PTC tax credit scheme, determines a new, comprehensive report on wind power from the US Department of Energy.

The price for wind turbines is still far below the peak prices from 2008, and although the level will not reach the lows seen during the 2000-2002 period, they do constitute a historic low.
