India postpones 1 GW wind power auction with short notice

Uncertainty concerning transmission connectivity has prompted the Indian government to postpone an auction until next month, while turbine manufacturers initiate cost reduction measures.

India's government is postponing a national 1 GW wind auction. The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), which is hosting the tender, had announced to potential bidders last Monday that the tender would take place on Tuesday, Sept. 19, but it will instead begin on Oct. 4, reports Indian new bureau PTI, citing unnamed sources in the government.
