Oil company considers installing offshore wind farm in Jamaica

The US Trade and Development Agency is funding a feasibility study for what could become the first offshore wind farm in the Caribbean.

The first offshore wind farm off the coast of Jamaica could be in the works. The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has awarded the state-owned oil company Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ) a grant to fund a feasibility study concerning the profitability of installing a wind farm near the island.
