Statnett: Big potential for onshore wind in southern Norway

Analyses show that there is a big potential for expanding wind energy in southern Norway – without needing expensive investments in the electricity grid.

Wind Energy in Norway is far from extensive, and it is possible to expand it with significant capacity without requiring large and costly investments in transmission cables. In regard to the existing power grid and consumption, the southern region of the country has the most potential.
