UK might phase out coal-fired power in 2022

Pending the level of the special British carbon tax, coal-fired power plants in the UK might  be phased out of production by as early as 2022, a new study shows.

The UK might be in the process of closing its coal-fired power plants. This could happen if the UK maintains its current carbon emission price floor, reports Norwegian energy market analyst firm Montel concerning a new study from Oxford-based Aurora Energy Research.
