Spanish intermediary secures green projects at zero-subsidy

A young offshoot of the successful Danish energy trader Danske Commodities, Our New Energy, facilitates power purchase agreements between developers and investors, a role that recently helped secure the development of a 708 MW zero-subsidy project in Portugal.

Late last week, Vestas and Danish developer Hirthals Havn announced that they would install Denmark's first zero-subsidy wind farm. The project is backed by a three-year power purchase agreement (PPA) – and PPAs can play an important role in constructing projects without state support, according to the young Spanish firm Our New Energy.
