Major blackout sheds doubt on UK TSO

The UK's Tory government is considering whether multinational energy group National Grid will maintain its role as TSO for power and gas after the massive blackout in August.

The British power grid's extensive collapse on Aug. 9 that left around 9 million UK households without electricity and also impacted both ground and air traffic has raised a discussion about whether to renationalize parts of multinational energy group and UK transmission system operator National Grid.
