Ørsted sells Danish DSO Radius

The utility has signed an agreement to sell its metropolitan Copenhagen distribution system operator Radius to the domestic, consumer-owned company Seas-NVE for a price of DKK 21.3 billion. It is difficult to contain the excitement, the buyer says.

Ørsted's drawn out process of selling its capital region distribution system operator Radius is now complete. Ørsted and local, customer-owned energy company Seas-NVE have singed a deal to sell the DSO and associated businesses for DKK 21.3 billion (EUR 2.85 billion) to be paid in cash. The transaction is pending approval from anti-trust authorities and the Danish Energy Agency, expected to be settled during the first half of 2020, Ørsted informs a stock exchange notice.
