Vattenfall apologizes for rebate demand

The Nordic region's collapsed power price has led the Swedish utility to demand large rate reductions from suppliers – a fine idea but a faulty method, concedes senior EVP following massive criticism.

Many subsuppliers are likely well aware of the situation. When showing up to talks with one of the big sector players, representatives are not only supposed to hang up their coats in the cloakroom, but are also expected to shave a few percentages off the prices before sitting down at the table. Vattenfall has, however, taken this procedure one step further.
