Total acquires gas-fired power plants on Iberian Peninsula

French energy group Total is in a good place Monday at noon on the stock exchange in Paris, after it emerged that the group is acquiring a major customer portfolio from Energias de Portugal and two of Spanish EDP's gas-fired power plants, which will render the French company a bigger player in Spain and Portugal, according to Reuters.
