Statkraft expands solar ambitions

The acquisition of Solarcentury will add more photovoltaic power to the utility's portfolio and strengthen operations on international markets.

Solar energy will proliferate even further in the future, says Norwegian utility Statkraft, which is confident that the technology will become the largest single source of electricity. For the same reason, the power company has decided to prepare for that future with the purchase of Solarcentury, the UK's largest player within photovoltaics.
