Fortum rebounds in Q1 thanks to higher power prices

The Finnish utility closes the first quarter with a result that seriously puts the cumbersome year that was 2020 in the rear-view mirror.

Things have been going much better for Finnish power company Fortum so far this year. Whereas electricity prices have regained ground and Russian operations have strengthened, the utility exits the first quarter of 2021 presenting a bottom-line result of EUR 1.310bn against EUR 938m from the same period last year.
