Statkraft ordered to add bird protections to 19-year-old wind farm

The Norwegian utility is ordered to mitigate issues at wind farm Smøla Vindkraftverk after several new reports about birdlife and wind turbines in the area.

The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) has decided that onshore wind farm Smøla Vind 2, owned by Statkraft, must introduce measures to reduce the number of birds colliding with wind turbines, NVE writes in a statement.
