Ørsted sees biodiversity restoration potential for offshore wind turbines

Through the ReCoral by Ørsted project, the Danish utility will cultivate corals on offshore wind farms. The first test of the concept is set to start in June off the coast of Taiwan.

After four years of preparations and surveys, Ørsted will be the first company to launch a trial for coral growth on offshore wind turbine foundations to examine whether such a project could contribute to saving the world’s coral reefs, writes Ørsted in a press release.
