High energy prices both raise and burden Statkraft

The Norwegian utility has booked a loss of NOK 1bn in the second quarter.

Everything appeared to be running smoothly for Statkraft as evidenced by the first quarter report, which saw a doubling in revenue and of the bottom line.

This was primarily because energy prices had soared since the second half of 2021. Skyrocketing prices were further fueled by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
