Ørsted and partner Esvagt have signed an agreement for another methanol-powered service vessel to service Ørsted’s offshore wind farms.

The Danish utility major announces on Wednesday.

With the agreement, Ørsted has now ordered two vessels. The new vessel is scheduled to be launched in 2026

The vessel will be equipped with dual-fuel engines that can run on sustainable e-methanol produced from renewable energy and biogenic carbon. According to Ørsted, this will reduce annual CO2 emissions by around 4,500 tonnes.
