Last Wednesday, Dong Energy announced in a press release that it had signed a joint venture agreement with the Dutch company Cure Afvalbeheer.
Although this might result in a plant worth EUR 85 million, the statement did not make a big stir. This could be due to the fact that less than one day later, the Danish utility made the much bigger announcement that it had divested its oil division. The joint venture is named "Cure Dong Energy REnescience BV" and the partnership concerns one of Dong's business areas which generally does not receive as much attention as offshore wind.
