
It was never the intention for the electricity grid in Denmark, where utilities have a monopoly, to finance investment ventures in other fields far from the core businesses of these companies.
However several utilities have invested in television distribution, wood pellet factories and more – often with only losses to show for it, reports Danish media Jyllands-Posten.
