China pulls the emergency brake in response to too many turbines
Five Chinese regions were instructed to immediately halt the installation of new wind-turbine parks, because both local demand and transmission capacity are not significant enough to justify further expansion of wind energy.
A number of Chinese provinces are building so many wind turbines that it will be impossible for consumers to use all the electricity. The national energy authority has therefore requested three regions to postpone planned wind-energy projects, and two regions were ordered to immediately halt approving additional projects.
