Media says new German coal plant green-lighted

Despite a political decision to phase out coal, Uniper gets government blessing to begin using western Europe's only new coal power plant next year, Reuters reports.

No later than 2038, Germany's last coal-fired power plant must cease generating, the German government announced earlier this year. But even though that's approximately 18 years and 2 months into the future, that doesn't mean the last new coal plant has started generating yet.
