Danish municipality to get Europe's largest cooling facility

Kalundborg Forsyning is partnering up with Novo Nordisk and Novozymes to invest over a billion in district cooling infrastructure, which will have the biggest capacity in Europe.

Within a few years, Novo Nordisk and Novozymes will have access to seawater-based cooling facilities in the Danish municipality of Kalundborg. The companies have joined forces with utility company Kalundborg Forsyning to make a DKK 1.4bn (EUR 188m) investment in cooling for their fermentation tanks.
