Shell sold its Danish refinery without the buyer ever seeing it

Crossbridge, which now owns the refinery in Danish town Fredericia, bought the huge plant without setting foot on site. the sale took place during the coronavirus pandemic, which made it very special.

”We are the world’s first refinery to be sold virtually, because our new owners had not set foot here before the contract was signed,” says Torben Øllegaard Sørensen, head of press at Crossbridge Energy, formerly Shell Denmark in the Danish town of Fredericia.
