Tesla's sales of Chinese-produced cars surged by 29 percent in May compared to the preceding month.

The electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer sold a combined 33,463 Chinese-produced cars including export, show numbers from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) on Tuesday.
