BP, Iberdrola plan joint development of 6GW hydrogen in Europe

The British oil company and the Spanish utility join forces to develop green hydrogen projects totaling 6GW in the UK, Spain and Portugal.

An oil and gas supermajor and a power company form a joint venture to make green hydrogen.

British BP, the world’s sixth largest oil company, and Spain’s Iberdrola, the world’s third largest power company and a major renewable energy developer, plan joint investment of an undisclosed sum to develop and install electrolysis facilities with combined capacity of 6GW to make 600,000 tonnes of green H2 annually, reports Recharge News.
