Oil CEO resigns after 52 years

Over half a century ago, Harold Hamm founded US-based shale specialist Continental Resources. Now he steps down as CEO, but he will continue as chair.

US oil pioneer Harold Hamm, 74, resigns as chief executive at Continental Resources – one of the US' largest shale oil and gas firms – the company confirms in an official statement. Hamm established the Continental at the age of 21 in 1967.
