Semco anticipates task drought from transition-prone oil sector

The level of activity in Denmark's oil and gas sector is running on low steam, deems Semco Maritime CEO Steen Brødbæk. On the other hand, he's confident that industry players are ready to take up new initiatives during this decisive year for climate politics.

The oil sector's crisis, which seriously began in the summer of 2014, is still holding the Danish fossil energy industry in an iron grip. Whereas oil and gas is getting back up to speed elsewhere in the world, oil rigs in in Western Denmark's Port of Esbjerg remain idle.
