The team behind Nord Stream 2, led by Russia's Gazprom, had originally hoped to have the pipeline operational before the end of 2019. Since then, they realigned their target to have the gas flowing by the end of 2020 or the start of 2021.
This deadline is now at risk of being overrun as well, not least given that project firm Nord Stream 2 AG still hasn't made clear how it expects to lay the remaining 150 kilometers of pipe.
