Norway's government approves electrification of three oil platforms

The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy on Thursday green-lit a power connection from an onshore plant to three oil and gas platforms, effective from the end of 2022. Electricity will pass through a forthcoming platform at giant field Johan Sverdrup and will reduce emissions from a number of assets near the area Utsirahøyden, the ministry confirms in a press release.
