Energy firms to produce Germany's first turquoise hydrogen

Oil and gas companies Wintershall Dea and VNG aim to produce turquoise hydrogen using natural gas in 2023.

Through a so-called thermal methane pyrolysis process, natural gas will be split into hydrogen and solid carbon for use as energy source and industrial raw material, respectively. That's the aim of a partnership deal entered by oil and gas company Wintershall Dea and gas group VNG.
