Danish oil and gas find Solsort could take off soon

Ineos and Danoil will soon be able to present a development plan for the Solsort discovery, which is slated to provide Denmark with 14-15 million new barrels of oil and gas, says Danoil CEO Svend Lykkemark Christensen in an interview with EnergyWatch.

In 2015, the holders of right made a collaboration agreement on extraction from the Solsort find made five years prior. The discovery has since been declared commercially viable, and June 25 saw a 30-year extension given on the permits. Since Danish power utility Dong (now Ørsted) made the Solsort discovery during an exploration drilling in 2010, the holders of right to the find have repeatedly tried to have the project take off, to no avail.
